The 5 things that will help me...

Ok, so my friend Sam and I decided to come up with 5 things that will help us to make some changes in our lives. The idea came from this Ruby show, she came up with 5 changes that will help her to re-start her weight loss.

Sam doesn't need the list since she has done a great job giving herself direction, she has goals per month and quarter, obviously that gives her direction in her daily living.

Me on the other hand need direction, lots of it.

I recently moved to a new state, used to live in AZ and now live in MA. I decided to move in January, not the best month to move since the winter almost killed me. Then I gave up my job, a position that took me 4 years to build. With the job I left my friends and my security blanket. Now I am here in a new city, with my husband, no house, no job and no idea about what I want to do next.

I shouldn't complain since on the other hand, the reason why we are here is that my husband got a job opportunity that will improve our future. Also, my in-laws have been very nice to us and have opened their house to us, that is a lot to be grateful for.

So, as you can see the problem is a personal one, internal one, not a problem that is caused from the outside. So, coming back to the 5 things...

Here they are:

1) Wake up earlier and take the dog for a morning walk every day of the week but weekends
2) Spring cleaning - Go through the boxes of clothes I have and make a decision about things I am not wearing anymore, don't go with the weather here and have to go to the donation bin
3) Come to the library every day of the week, well Monday to Friday to work on looking for a job and work on the blog and keep myself focus
4) Personal inner growth goal
5) Clean up my diet and re-start the losing weight process

Ok, here we go. My progress: I have woken up two days in a row to take the dog out for a walk.
Today is my first day coming to the library to work.
I restarted the blog.
I will go home later to do laundry and start cleaning the boxes.

Wish me good luck!

Ale, I love that you're blogging! I selfishly hope you decide to keep it up because it'll be a nice, extra way to stay in touch with you now that we're not right down the road from each other. :) This five things is a good idea. I like your list! I can identify with your need to get going at the beginning of the day and to have somewhere to go so you can focus on your job search and do some things that are productive for you. It's funny how being between jobs or school can put you in a funk when you're used to the routine, accomplishment and interaction that it provides. The transition from your move will smooth out, and you'll find your place in Boston. I totally identify with that, too -- having gone through something similar with each of the four moves I've made in the last nine years. This is a good list. I like how you did your check in. I'm excited to hear how you do with these five things. Don't expect perfection from yourself. It takes a little time to establish new routines. Good luck!
