Liking it!
The weekend came and went. It was ok but the rain didn’t let us enjoy it as we planned. Saturday we had a Trivia Pursuit night with my husband’s family. It was so much fun. I wish my family in Mexico did more board games. They always have guys vs girls teams. We drank beers, wine and have finger food. My mother in law did a great job and we had a very good time, right here at home.
Sunday I went out with my mother in law and my husband’s two sisters for lunch and then saw the play “The Lady with All The Answers” at the Central Square Theater. This place is a small stage with the audience surrounding it. I loved the set up and loved the play. Since I was born and raised in Mexico City really didn’t know a lot about Ann Landers. It was very interesting to hear how her column took off and how she asked experts for answers and the interesting fact that she reply to ALL the letters she received – I wonder how she did it since in average she received 900 letters…every day! Here is a picture of my American family:
This is what I love about living here…culture everywhere! The tickets were $35 and it was a perfect way to spend a gray afternoon.
Today Luci and I went for an hour and 30 minutes walk. And I am such a slow walker that didn’t accomplish 10,000 steps haha! Oh well, the dog enjoyed the walk and I needed to burn some extra calories from the weekend.
On another note, I took my beading class today at Life’s A Bead with Susan. They offer free classes some times and it was great, it was one to one and I learn a new bead weaving technique: Spiral Rope Chain. Here is a picture of my brand new bracelet:
I am really grateful with the way my life is taking shape in my new state. Even though I miss my family and friends and Arizona will always have a place in my heart I am looking forward to meeting new people and keep learning my way around.
Now I just need to figure out how to survive the winter…
